B.F. Jacobs was the original founder of Jacobs and Jacobs Injury Law Group, followed by his grandson, Edmund F. Jacobs. Edmund, who was known as "Bud," and his wife were active in the local community of Puyallup Valley, raising children, two of whom would go on to join the family law firm. Tom and Tim practiced with their father until Tim's passing in 2000. Bud later passed away in 2005, and Tom has continued carrying the family torch, keeping the firm going for over 100 years.

Attorney Tom Jacobs was voted as one of the seven trustees of the Pierce County Bar Association by approximately 1,500 colleagues on two occasions. He has provided legal representation for hundreds of accident and injury trials and arbitration hearings during his 40 years of practicing law.
