Dr. Victor Guerra's God Is Not A Noun is an extraordinary coming-of-age memoir filled with extremely unusual coincidences and telepathic experiences. It's also the story of the birth and death of the New Age movement, told by someone who lived it.

Dr. Guerra started at 17 with a traveling Jesus tent revival ministry. During this time, while the group was witnessing the gospel in Las Vegas, Nevada, Dr. Guerra was thrown in jail for Jesus. He then spent two years on the highways, with amusing and dangerous stories of hitchhiking across the deserts and the mountains of the Southwest.

After this, he moved on to live in three yoga ashrams, and a Buddhist meditation center in the mountains. He ended up living, studying, and writing about Vedanta with two prominent master swamis from India. He worked at three vegetarian restaurants and played in a folk-rock band.

This book contains many wild stories of Austin, Texas, and the psychedelic period of the 1970s—before the rise of computer companies, when hippies still ruled the town. He went on to search for meaning and enlightenment in Santa Fe, New Mexico, in the 1980s, when it was a total hotbed for spiritual hippies.

By studying and living with many Eastern religions, as well as Christianity, Dr. Guerra learned how to find some truth in every religion. He shares the stories of the creation of these religions and derived his philosophical conclusions from studying and practicing all of them.

Moral and ethical scandals popped up in the 1990s among leaders of the New Age movement, who had brought these philosophies from India. These scandals caused a decisive disillusionment among millions of followers, dissolving many groups. By the end of the 1990s, the New Age was dead. Dr. Victor Guerra honors and pays tribute to it, but also gives the requiem for the New Age movement.
