Recognition highlights Bloom+ and its growing role in consumer permissioned data and credit building infrastructure for banks and credit unions
New York, NY (PRUnderground) July 29th, 2026
Bloom Credit, a financial data infrastructure company, today announced it has been named a finalist for the 2026 Finovate Awards in the Best Embedded Finance Solution category. The recognition centers on Bloom+, Bloom Credit’s consumer permissioned data (CPD) platform that helps financial institutions turn everyday payment activity into credit building tradelines.
Bloom Credit is one of a small group of companies recognized as finalists across the Finovate Awards’ banking, fintech and payments categories this year. Winners will be revealed digitally on September 10, 2026, the second day of FinovateFall. A full list of finalists is available at informaconnect.com/finovate-industry-awards/the-shortlist.
As financial institutions look for vendors that can help them report consumer permissioned data such as rent, utility and telecom payments to the credit bureaus, Bloom+ has emerged as one of the leading fintech platforms built specifically for this purpose. The API driven, white labeled infrastructure allows banks, credit unions and fintechs to help account holders convert recurring bill payments into recognized tradelines, reflecting up to 24 months of positive payment history within approximately 24 hours, without the consumer taking on new debt.
Unlike point solutions that focus on a single payment type or direct to consumer apps that operate outside the banking relationship, Bloom+ is bureau agnostic and embedded directly inside the financial institution’s existing digital experience. Account holders stay within their trusted banking environment while institutions strengthen engagement, deposits and lending relevance.
Financial institutions using Bloom+ have seen measurable results. Enrolled account holders show an 13% increase in bank deposits and a 31% increase in bill payment activity. Within 90 days of enrolling in Bloom+, institutions have seen lending inquiries rise across product types, including a 12% increase for auto loans, a 16% increase for credit cards, a 20% increase for personal loans and a 28% increase for mortgages.
“At Bloom Credit, we built Bloom+ because too many creditworthy people are invisible to the traditional scoring system,” said Christian Widhalm, CEO of Bloom Credit. “These are consumers who pay rent and utilities on time every month but have little or no credit file to show for it. Consumer permissioned data lets financial institutions finally see and serve that Invisible Prime population, and this recognition from Finovate reflects how much momentum that idea has built across the industry.”
Bloom Credit’s platform has seen significant growth over the past year. Following the initial launch of Bloom+ with Inspire Federal Credit Union, the company added Navy Federal Credit Union, the nation’s largest credit union, and Suncoast Credit Union, a top 10 U.S. credit union. According to a Cornerstone Advisors study commissioned by Bloom Credit, banks and credit unions could recapture $110 billion in deposits and generate more than $1.5 billion in interchange fees by integrating credit reporting capabilities into checking and payment accounts.
This is the latest in a series of industry recognitions for Bloom Credit, which previously won Finovate’s Best of Show (2024), Tearsheet’s Data Innovation Award (2024), Finovate’s Excellence in Financial Inclusion (2025), a CU Times Luminaries Award (2025) and FinTech Breakthrough’s Banking Infrastructure Software of the Year (2026).
